Prior to joining the team, Sam worked for Virgin StartUp, the not-for-profit entrepreneurial arm of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group, providing funding, business advice and mentorship to thousands of UK-wide entrepreneurs and change makers annually. He led operations and the delivery of up to £18 million in Start Up Loan funding and support, in partnership with the British Business Bank. He also co-created and ran M.Y.O for eight years, where thousands of guests explored their creative side through arts & crafts workshops and brand activations, from its Central London studio and off-site.
Before this, Sam qualified as an accountant and worked in Restructuring at KPMG and Smith & Williamson, led the UK operation of Camara Education, a social enterprise providing digital literacy skills to children across Africa, and helped launch Better Space, a co-working space for social entrepreneurs in Islington – a collaboration between City St George’s, University of London and Islington Council.
In his spare time, he enjoys the craft of lino printing, following his curiosity and trying new fitness challenges!
